COLEMAN — Coming off a 9-3 campaign that featured a regional championship and a sectional semifinal appearance, the Coleman football team enters the season balancing proven senior experience with a wave of emerging talent.

The Cougars finished second in the Northwoods Conference last fall with a 6-1 league mark, falling only to conference champion Oconto Falls. Head coach Jeff Bronson returns a core anchored by four seniors who have lettered since their freshman year: Kollin Peters, Kolton Peters, Bryce Seefeldt, and Wyatt Bieber.

“We have, you know, Kollin Peters, Kolton Peters, who have been starting since their sophomore year,” Bronson said. “Bryce Seefeldt has been there since his sophomore year. Wyatt Bieber’s been there since his sophomore year. So those four seniors have played a lot of football because they even lettered as freshmen. So we’re going to rely upon them to help get us caught up in some of the spots where we are really young.”

Along with the senior group, junior two-way starter Zach Ziemer and junior Jackson Rakowski bring vital experience. However, with a roster heavy on underclassmen, the team’s growth will be pivotal to their overall success.
