Richard “Dick” Carl Tachick, Sr., 84, of Silver Cliff, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026.
Dick was born on September 14, 1942, in Silver Cliff to the late William Tachick and Helen Tachick (nee Shevy). He married his wife, Darlene “Whitey” Tachick, on May 10, 1961, and together they proudly raised their children in Athelstane and Silver Cliff.
Dick spent much of his working life on the high line, proudly working for MJ Electric for many years. His work took him to many different parts of the United States.
Dick will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the adventures he found in the woods around Silver Cliff. He enjoyed exploring, spending time outside, and sharing a good cup of coffee during his morning coffee clutch with his buddies. Those mornings, filled with conversation and friendship, were a cherished part of his routine.
Dick also loved camping with his family in their motor home, especially near the Peshtigo River, making memories along the way. Some of his favorite memories were made around the campfire, with family gathered nearby playing his guitar. Later in life, he found great enjoyment in his Model T and Model A, taking pride in the cars and the time he spent enjoying them.
Above all, Dick treasured his family and the time they spent together. The adventures in the woods, camping trips, coffee with friends, and countless everyday moments will remain cherished memories for all who knew and loved him.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Darlene “Whitey” Tachick; his children, Rick (Tammy) Tachick of Athelstane and Tracy (Tim) Jaworski of Silver Cliff; and his grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Staudinger of Valders, Abby (Shawn Bins) Tachick of Stephenson, Danielle (Amanda) Tachick of Menominee, Michigan, Joe (Kara) Jaworski of Bellevue, and Jason Jaworski of Fox Point. He is also survived by his older brother, Jack Tachick of Silver Cliff, along with his many great-grandchildren, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Billy Joe; his brother, Bill; his sisters, Irene and Lois; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will take place at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home in Crivitz, Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 24, from 9AM to 11AM, with the funeral service beginning at 11AM. Burial will immediately follow at Silver Cliff Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Bellin Health and the staff of Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home for their care and assistance during this time.
Dick will be remembered for his love of his family, his pride in his work, his adventures in the outdoors, and the many years he spent calling Silver Cliff home.
