Linda was born on September 29, 1948 in Menominee, Michigan. The daughter of Morris and Joyce (Jensky) Thompson. She married the love of her life Phillip Wenzel on October 21, 1967 and the couple enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage together. For the first year of marriage, they lived in Marinette where Linda was employed by Ansul Chemical. Once Phil decided to pursue a career in law enforcement as a Wisconsin State Trooper, they moved to Wisconsin Dells and began the rest of their lives. Linda took a position at Badger Ordinance Works until the birth of their first daughter Jodi 3 years later. At this time Linda made the decision that being a Mom was more important than working. 5 ½ years later they were blessed with another daughter, Nichol. Linda was a committed mother who focused all of efforts on her children, building and maintaining a beautiful home and always encouraging fun outside activities in which she participated in every one. When both of her children went to school, Linda decided that she wanted to go back to work. At that time she was hired by American Family Insurance of Wisconsin Dells and loved her part-time job. She remained at American Family Insurance for 3 years before deciding she wanted to work full time. This is when she began working for the School District of Wisconsin Dells of where she remained for over 30 years and retired as the Administrative Assistant. During her working career she continued to enjoy all of her adventures but during her retirement Linda and Phil truly lived their lives to the fullest. Between boating, ATV’ing, snowmobiling, camping, traveling, and wintering in Florida all while never giving up a moment to spend time with family. Family was the pride of her life.

Linda is survived by her husband, Phil, 2 daughters, Jodi (Scott) and Nichol (Daniel), 4 grandchildren; Cassandra (Matthew), Thomas, Jordann, and Dayne; 2 great-grandchildren, Luca and Lennyn, 5 step-grandchildren, and beloved pets Russ-Tee and Deckster. She is further survived by her brother Rodney (Lynda) Thompson and sister Carol (Dave) Johnson and all of her additional extended family and friends. Linda is preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions for a Linda J. Wenzel memorial fund will be distributed to various organizations.

The Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lake Delton, Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements. For On-Line condolences and information, go to www.pichafuneralhome.com.
