Cheryl Marie Pentony, age 71, of Marinette, Wisconsin, passed away on September 5, 2026, in Marinette, Wisconsin. Born on June 22, 1955, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Cheryl lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness, and she will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her.

Cheryl was a proud graduate of Marinette Catholic High School and carried the values of faith, service, and hard work throughout her life. She was a Christian whose gentle spirit and caring nature were reflected in the way she treated others. Cheryl chose to work in customer service, a path that suited her well because she truly enjoyed helping people. She began her career at the YMCA and later worked at several convenience stores, eventually retiring from The Store in Peshtigo. In every role she held, Cheryl brought patience, warmth, and a sincere desire to make life a little easier for those around her.

Outside of work, Cheryl found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits. She enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, camping, and travel. She especially loved using her time and talents to help make other people’s lives more comfortable and more enjoyable. Whether through a thoughtful gesture, a handmade item, or a kind word, Cheryl had a way of making others feel valued and cared for. Her presence was a source of comfort and encouragement, and her quiet acts of kindness left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.

Cheryl is survived by her sisters, Mary K. Meyer and her husband Richard, Susan D. Ray, Lou Ann Ciochetto and her husband Joseph, Charlene R. Phillips and her husband Ronald, and Rosemary F. Clark. She is also survived by 8 nieces, 6 nephews, 11 great-nieces, 9 great-nephews, 1 great-great-niece, and 1 great-great-nephew, as well as dear friends Debbie and Mike Sievert. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ruth Pentony; her brother James Pentony; her sister, Renee L. Furst; her brother-in-law, Steve Furst; and her nephew; Mikey Furst. Her family was an important part of her life, and she cherished the bonds she shared with them throughout the years.

Those who knew Cheryl will remember her as a woman who was kind, generous, and thoughtful in all she did. She had a steady and reassuring presence, and her life was a reflection of compassion lived out in everyday ways. She did not seek recognition, but her goodness was evident to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Cheryl’s legacy will live on in the memories of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched with her warmth and care.

As the writer Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” Cheryl Pentony lived that truth in a beautiful and meaningful way. Her life was one of service, love, and quiet grace, and she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

As Cheryl requested there will not be a formal service. The family will gather for a private Celebration of Life.

Cheryl's family thanks her Primary Care giver; Jessica M Flaeschel, NP as well as the staff at Sun Valley Assisted Living for their care and support of Cheryl.
