Pine Needle Quilters September meeting

Posted

PORTERFIELD – Pine Needle Quilters will meet Monday, Sept. 16, at the Lake Town Hall on Loomis Rd., Porterfield.  This will be an open sew day.  Doors open by 9 a.m.  Quilters are invited to stay as long as they like. Ironing boards, irons, cutting table and mats are provided. Bring a sewing machine, quilting supplies and projects. There will be a give and take table along with a suggestion box.

Noon lunch will be pot luck. Please bring a dish to pass. Table service is provided along with coffee. Many thanks to the members who help set up lunch and clean up after.

The August meeting welcomed a new quilter, nine-year-old Francene Thiel from Kohler, who was visiting her grandmother, Bette Thiel. Francene sewed on the magic square pot holder and pieced a small quilt as a gift to her mother, but after it was finished she liked it so much she considered keeping it for her to use as a shawl.

Back by popular demand is an upcoming three day time only Quilt Retreat to be held at the Town of Lake Hall set for Nov. 25, 26 and 27. That is Thanksgiving and deer hunting week. Just in time to finish or make quilted Christmas gifts. More planning and info will be shared at the September and October Pine Needle Quilter’s meetings.

Contact number is (715) 927-2221. If there’s no answer, leave a voice mail or text. Remember to leave a name and contact info.
