PESHTIGO – Eight members of the Peshtigo Lions Club recently came together for the club’s fall 2026 Adopt-A-Highway cleanup, helping keep the Peshtigo community clean and beautiful while putting the Lions motto, “We Serve,” into action.
On Monday, Oct. 19, the eight Lions spent time along over four miles of roads in the Peshtigo area collecting litter and debris along their adopted stretch of roadway. Armed with gloves and collection bags, the group worked together to make a visible difference in the community.
For the Peshtigo Lions, the project was about more than picking up trash. It was an opportunity for members to work together on a practical community project that benefits everyone who lives in and travels through the area.
“Service comes in many shapes and sizes,” is a guiding principle of Lions service. The Adopt-A-Highway project is a simple but meaningful example of responding to a community need through volunteer action.
The fall cleanup demonstrates that community service does not always require a large project or a major fundraising campaign. Sometimes, it means giving a few hours, working side by side with fellow volunteers and leaving a community a little better than it was before.
The Peshtigo Lions thanked the eight members who participated in the fall Adopt-A-Highway cleanup and everyone who continues to support the club’s commitment to serving Peshtigo and the surrounding community.
