Leadership Oconto County Class of 2026 graduates

Posted

OCONTO – Leadership Oconto County proudly celebrated the graduation of its 2026 class, marking the culmination of a nine-month leadership development journey that began with orientation in August 2025. The ceremony honored six graduates who dedicated themselves to personal growth, community engagement and the future of Oconto County.

The following individuals received framed certificates and were recognized at the graduation ceremony: Paul Kindel, Amanda Arndt, Sondra Hillberg, Alexis Stephens, Lynne Van den Bogart and Jessie Mommaerts.

Graduation day featured a full schedule of programming reflecting the breadth and depth of the Leadership Oconto County experience. The day opened with a presentation by Jayme Sellen, Executive Director of TEDCOR, sparking meaningful discussion about the county’s strengths and the challenges it faces.

Participants shared individual “My Journey” presentations, reflecting on where they started, where they are today and where their leadership paths may lead them next, along with their most significant takeaways from the program.

A highlight of the ceremony was the class of 2026’s community project presentation — a comprehensive revamp of the ice rink in Oconto Falls. The class raised $10,000 in donations to fund a plan that includes:

  • Doubling the size of the rink using a tarp base to reduce maintenance and water usage
  • Adding benches, trees, and shrubs to beautify the space
  • Creating new parking in a non-residential area
  • Installing improved lighting
  • Building a better warming shelter for skaters and families

Leadership Oconto County gratefully acknowledges the employers and organizations whose support made the class of 2026 possible: Oconto Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Encompass Oconto Falls, Prevea, ST Paper, Jones Funeral Services, Cain Accounting and Aurora. Their investment in the program reflects a shared commitment to cultivating excellence and leadership throughout Oconto County.
