KCs Donation at MaryHill Manor

Niagara Library To Hosts Author Talk with Keith Huotari

On Tuesday, March 28th at 6 pm, Keith Huotari, known as “Hoots” in some circles, will present an Author Talk at the Niagara Public Library.  His debut book, entitled “Perfect Union – Iron Mountain and Its Last Surviving Civil War Soldier,” was published in 2022 and recounts the life and times of Iron Mountain pioneer Samuel Bassett.

Children’s Author Stacey Lantagne At Niagara Public Library Mar. 28

Stacey Lantagne, a children’s author from Florence, Wisconsin, will visit Niagara Public Library on Tuesday, March 28th at 10 am for an Author Talk program in conjunction with Storytime. She will read from her Coping Crew Series of books – a series that numbers 19+ books.

Announce Silver Cliff Card Party Winners

St. Patrick’s Day was the theme of the card Party held on March 11, at the Silver Cliff Town Hall. Zelma Rosenbaum was the hostess for the evening serving up a terrific corn beef and cabbage dinner. At cards, Riana Ventura Bishop took high and Joanne Sisler finished in second. Third was a tie between Ahbram Ventura Bishop and Carol Kitchmaster. Dan Betts had the low score of the evening and Michelle Baldwin was the lucky Door Prize winner.

Resident of The Cottages Found Dead of Hypothermia

A Marinette woman, Ruth Alguire, 76, a resident of  The Cottages, 2006 Lake Park Drive, Marinette, a Senior Living and Memory Care facility, died of hypothermia on Wednesday, March 1. She was discovered down outside and not breathing on property owned by The Cottages, according to Marinette City Police Chief Jon LaCombe.

After brief discussion at its regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 13, Pound Village Board agreed  to hold a special meeting at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28 to consider proposals for an ordinance to regulate outdoor wood burning heating units in the village.

Sheriff's Office Receives Drone Donation

The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Faith Lutheran Church and Preschool of Marinette for their generous donation to their drone program. Through their efforts of fundraising, along with community support, members of Faith Lutheran were able to present a check to Sheriff Randy Miller on March 13 for the purchase of a new drone, equipment, and schooling in order to train deputies to pilot drones.

Coleman High School Announces Valedictorians and Salutatorian

Coleman High School has named their two valedictorians and salutatorian for the Class of 2023. Valedictorians are Sylvia Fochesato and Trent Mongin, and Breana Hanrahan is Salutatorian.
