I do not know about you but I wonder what do the Marinette County Employees that plow the roads do when there is no snow in the winter?  We know that they lay off some of the Parks workers in the off season and a few of them work all year round.  I suppose year round working Park Workers can maintain equipment in the off season and I was told by the administrator that they also plow the roads.  I know the county employs mechanics so they take care of most of the county vehicle maintenance needs and I see cou

I took advantage of the free recycling event on Friday, Aug. 11th at the UW-Marinette.  I got there at noon when the event was supposed to start. The line was very long already. I spent 90 minutes inline to drop off my old stuff that needed to be recycled. All the time the vehicles were all idling as the line kept slowly moving along. I wonder how much gasoline was used and air pollution generated by the vehicles while recycling? The line when I finished was longer than when I got there.

Marinette County thinks they are inviting tourism in many ways. They are not. People still come in the summer months to use the lakes, rivers, flowages, etc.

Thank you for doing an excellent job of covering local issues and sports. Several subjects in the last couple paper editions should be of great concern to all county residents, voters and tax payers.  This county has some real issues. PFAS bio sludge is still being spread around the county on farm fields according to the article “Lake Noquebay Samples Low to No-Detect for PFAS”. I would not have suspected the lake to have any PFAS since the body of water has a dam and water flows out constantly.
