Yvonne D. Belonga, passed away peacefully at her residence on the 29th of December 2025. Born on the 5th of September, 1934, to the late Dorothy (Collard) and Stanley Wood. She was raised on the family farm in Porterfield.
A graduate of Peshtigo High School in 1952, Yvonne committed her life to the service of others not only through her career but also her personal endeavors. She took great pride in her role as an executive secretary at Ansul, where she demonstrated impeccable dedication for over 37 years.
Yvonne married Richard Belonga on June 2, 1956, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo. They celebrated 52 years of marriage until Richard’s passing on April 5, 2009.
Yvonne will be remembered for her exceptional baking skills—most notably her famous Christmas peanut squares and her involvement with the Marinette County Association for Home and Community Education. Yvonne’s love for travel was evident through her enthusiasm for organized bus trips and casino runs which she often shared with family and friends.
In her younger days, Yvonne found joy in the great outdoors, partaking in camping, canoeing, and fishing adventures. Her competitive spirit shone brightly through her love for card games, a hobby through which she made many enduring connections. Yvonne also contributed to her community through volunteering, where she shared delightful stories and literary adventures by reading to children at Headstart.
She is lovingly remembered in the hearts of plenty, including a brother, Duane Wood, her sisters-in-law Carol Belonga and Brenda (Michael) Massio, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Yvonne's life was richer for the treasured bonds with special friends Virginia Salewski and Shirley Bloch.
Yvonne is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Dorothy (Collard): husband, Richard; brothers, Ronald, Walter and Larry: and brother-in-law, Donald Belonga; sisters-in-law, Margaret, Lila, and Josephine Wood.
Visitation for Yvonne will take place at the St. Mary Catholic Parish on Saturday January 3, 2026 from 11AM until time of Mass of Christian burial at noon. Father Michael Lightner will be officiating. Burial will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo. Berth and Rosenthal is serving the family.
