William "Bill" C. Krueger, 84, of Pound, WI., went peacefully with the Lord on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.
Born July 24, 1941, to Hilmer and Evelyn (Seefeldt) Krueger, Bill was the eldest of two children. He attended Payne Elementary School and Peshtigo High School. Bill and his brother, Glen, were raised on their family farm in Grover. Bill worked for Elm Dairy cheese factory.
On June 3, 1961, Bill was united in marriage to the love of his life, Linda Meyer at St. Leo’s Church in Pound. They shared 65 blessed years of marriage and built a life together in Coleman and Pound while raising their four children; Steve, Diane, Scott and Jeff.
Bill started his wood-working career at Chadwick Manufacturing Co. in Coleman. Later he and his business partner, Tom Krause, purchased Coleman Lumber & Fuel Co. Bill then purchased the company as solo owner, renaming the company Coleman Wood Products. Throughout his career, he built cabinets, operated a wood shop, and constructed countless custom homes throughout the area. He took great pride in helping families create homes they would enjoy for generations. Along with Coleman Wood Products, he also operated a sawmill, The Village Inn (formerly Club 18) in Pound with his brother, Glen, a family worm business, apartment rentals, and a wire harness business with his wife, Linda. Bill was grateful for the many dedicated employees who worked alongside him over the years. In 2014 his sons, Steve (retired) and Scott, took over the family business. Bill’s favorite motto was “Let’s do everything right the first time.”
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed trap shooting and gathering with friends to shake dice. He loved working alongside his family, spending time at their cabin/land on Left Foot Lake, riding his Harley and traveling. Above all, Bill treasured his family and the time they spent together.
Bill and Linda are members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Coleman, WI.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Hilmer and Evelyn Krueger, parents-in-law; Leo and Olga Meyer Sr., daughter; Diane Krueger Maye, sister-law; Marge Zeitler, and his brothers-in-law; Leo Meyer, Bill Mongin, Frances Chucka, Dan (Marge) Zeitler, and cherished nieces and nephews.
