Mary S. Johnson, 85 of Marinette passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Luther Home. She was born on March 5, 1941, to the late Clarence and Anne (Lafluer) Bruso in Menominee. She graduated from Menominee High School. Mary married Ronald Johnson and together they had three children, Debra, James, and Gary. In the 1970's, she met the true love of her life, Melvin Tippler, where they spent over 50 years together. Mary found her true passion caring for others, becoming a CNA and a wonderful homemaker for her family. She had worked at Whispering Pines and Rennes. She later enjoyed camping, scratching her tickets, gardening, cooking, baking, and most of all, family get togethers.
Mary is survived by her son, Gary (Lisa) Johnson; sisters, Mona Bright and Teri Bahl; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and Melvin Tipplers family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, James; daughter, Deborah Ganter; significant other, Melvin Tipler; and four sisters.
Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Saturday, November 7th from 2-4pm. Funeral Services will be held at 4pm with Deacon Chuck Gervasio officiating. Burial will be in Birch Creek Cemetery.
