Mark Therrien was the kind of man who could make you laugh and make you think, often at the same time. A beloved husband, father, and grandfather, he passed away on May 12, 2026, while visiting Morocco.
Mark & his wife Rae called Lakewood home for 25 years, where he enjoyed skiing the trails of the Nicolet National Forest and tending his garden. He spent his career serving others as a school social worker, a public speaker, and finally in hospice care in Hawaii.
He is survived by his wife, Rae; daughters Mari and Kate; and six grandchildren. He is now reunited with his son, Matt.
A celebration of life will be held July 19 from 2–4pm at Townsend Town Hall. All who knew and loved Mark are welcome.
Mark’s invitation to the world was simple: create beauty around you, laugh louder than you think you should, and don’t take life too seriously.
