Lorelei Walker

Lorelei Diane (Mullany/Smeester) Walker was born on June 23rd 1955 to Karen Elaine (Beach) Mullany and Patrick Mullany in Marinette Wi. Her father died in an auto accident in 1958. Her mother later married Charles Joseph Smeester who adopted her. She grew up in Amberg Wi. Graduated from Wausaukee Wi High School in 1973. She graduated from St. Lukes school of nursing in Marquette Mi. 1975. She worked as an RN at the V.A. Medical Center in Iron Mountain Mi and later worked for Highland Nursing home in Iron Mountain Mi. She married Clyde Walker on June 21 st , 1975. She and Clyde moved to Florida in 1982 where she worked in nursing homes. In 1995 she graduated from Florida School of Massage in St Augustine, Fl. She worked for a few years for other beauty salons in St Augustine before opening her Massage Therapy business “Balance Massage and Meditation” in 2001. She was sole owner and operator of her business for 25 yrs. Her client list was in the hundreds, to the point she was forced later to limit taking on new clients. She was also an accomplished poet and song writer penning over 1000 poems, 3 of which became favorite songs that she and her Husband Clyde performed throughout Florida at Folk Festivals and small concert halls. Her request for her memorial service was to simply play one of her songs “Heaven In Your Eyes” she said that song says it all. My request is also to play our recorded version of this song in remembrance of her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents Edwin and Edna Beach; in-laws: Charles and Vesta Walker, Brother-in-law, Charles Walker Jr, Aunts and Uncles. Lorelei is survived by her husband, Clyde; brother, Fred (Carol) Smeester; sisters: Fonda (Greg) Scoda and Peggy Gunderson; aunt, Norma (Michael) Nekhay; nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside service to be held at the Amberg Cemetery May 16, 2026, at 11am.

Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee is assisting Lorelei’s family with arrangements.
