James Lemay

James J. LeMay, 73, of Marinette passed away unexpectedly at home Friday, January 24, 2025. He was born May 27, 1951, to James and Marjorie (Kolberg) LeMay in Menominee. He attended high school in Palmer, Alaska and Menominee and graduated in 1971. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Pazynski on June 26, 1971. Jim joined the U.S. Army in 1973 as a Combat Engineer. He and Mary Ann enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and Germany during his time in service. Jim retired as a Sergeant First Class and felt incredibly proud of his military service. After retiring from the military, he returned to Marinette and worked for Holtger Brothers Construction for many years before retiring in 2013. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends and family. He especially loved spending time at both the Drees and LeMay camps where he shared many laughs and stories through the years. Jim also enjoyed going for drives with his dog Oliver and taking multiple trips to the store looking for deals.

Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann; two sons, Nicholas (Kellie) of the Village of Lakewood, Ill. and Philip (Wayda) of Appleton, Wis.; a daughter, Joy (Jason) Staab of Windsor Wis.; his mother, Marjorie; three brothers: Jeff (Lori), Jerry (Debra), and Rob (Julie); three sisters: Donna (Bob) Gorenchan, Diane Ravet and Debbie (Brian) Chouinard; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Oliver. He was preceded in death by his father, James, brother Joel and sister, Mary Louise.

Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home on Friday, January 31 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Military Honors will take place at 5 p.m. by the Military 20 Year Club.
