Glen Martin Takes Top Honors at Wabeno’s Fifth Annual RibFest Challenge

The sweet smell of smoked meat filled the air as American Legion Post 44 hosted its fifth annual RibFest Challenge on Saturday, June 7. Community members gathered to sample ribs, share stories, and celebrate camaraderie, but it was Glen Martin who took home top honors. A proud member of the Sons of the American Legion, Martin outcooked five other contestants to earn first place and a towering rib-shaped trophy. Glen, along with his wife Amanda, regularly volunteers at Post 44 events and used the moment to thank the veterans who competed, honoring his late father’s service by continuing to serve the Legion and his community.
