We are deeply shocked and saddened by the loss of Douglas George Aubry (Doug) AKA Pugsly. He was born on July 9, 1956, to the late Ron and Norma (Vasumpar) Aubry. He graduated from Oconto High School in 1974. He worked during high school at Bonds Pickle Company and then for 14 years at Cruisers Yachts, then worked until his retirement in 2016 for Georgia Pacific.

He married his wife Julie (Glime) on June 1, 1985. The couple enjoyed 40 years of wonderful happy memories in the home they built on Sunshine Road in Lena. His greatest joy was his 2 daughters, Allison and Carissa who he lovingly referred to as Allycat and Doodles. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for them. Doug’s favorite past-time was fishing and cleaning his catch. The family living room is decorated with some of his biggest catches. Time spent in the boat with the wife and kids or his brothers was always fun, whether they caught any fish or not. He also enjoyed cutting wood for giant fires in the back yard or for camping trips. He loved to set his opponents in a good card game and showed no mercy when playing dominoes with Julie and the girls. From horseshoes to cornhole or any games he played, he was a fierce competitor and loved giving his opponents a hard time. He was an avid Packers and Badgers fan. He loved watching sports, especially college football and basketball. March Madness was one of his favorite times of year. He loved a good cocktail and a cigar and spent many hours on the patio sipping and watching the birds and other wildlife in the backyard. Doug had a passion for cooking, especially on the grill, the smoker, or the fire. His French onion soup is legendary. Many memories were made on the family’s annual trip to Jay’s Resort in Watersmeet, Michigan. His family, along with his brothers, cherished a week of swimming, fishing and boat rides through the Cisco Chain. He enjoyed cobbler by the fire and shared many laughs in cabin #1 or on the porch of cabin #2. He made lifelong friends with the other guests of the resort who shared the same week.

He is survived by his wife Julie and their two daughters Allison and Carissa. Allison recently married Anthony Socha who became like a son to him. He will be greatly missed by his brothers Pete (Joan) Aubry and Ron (Sharon) Aubry as well as his sister Nancy (Todd) Elias. He was a favorite uncle for his many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by his Glime in-laws. He was the life of the party at many family gatherings. Pugsly will also be missed by many lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bruce (Dawg) and sister Betsy.

He loved his granddogs. They will miss his belly rubs and playing on the floor with him.

Doug lived his 69 years to the fullest. His clever wit and sense of humor were contagious. He greeted everyone with a smile. He drove through life with his IGAS license plates touching the lives of everyone he met along the way.

No Matter the occasion, Hawaiian Shirts were always in style. Guests attending the service are encouraged to wear a Hawaiian shirt in his honor.

We will honor Doug’s life with a visitation on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home in Oconto, 121 Chicago Street. There will be a memorial service following the visitation at the funeral home at 3:00 PM with Deacon Peter Gard officiating.
