Denis "Flash" DeJardin, age 74, of Amberg, WI., passed away peacefully with his family at his side on June 26, 2026. He was born on May 29, 1952, to the late Clarence and Doris (Vandenhouten) DeJardin. Denis graduated from Preble High School in 1972. He met the love of his life, Bonnie Vandevelde, in 1971, and shortly after they got married at St. Peter & Paul Church on June 3, 1972. Together they had 3 children, Troy, Annie, and Nicholas. Denis was drafted into the service in 1973 where he chose to join the Army. Later he enlisted into the National Guard and served with them for 6 years.
Denis was avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting. He specifically enjoyed taking trips to Montana with his sons. Denis was a Packer fan and loved going to the games. His greatest achievement was being a grandpa and great-grandpa. He loved taking trips to Alaska and bringing his granddaughters Makayla and Madalynn with him. He took another special trip to the Grand Canyon with his granddaughter, Macie. Denis was an accomplished wood worker. He was also very active in the American Legion Post #428.
Denis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie DeJardin; his children, Troy (Nikki) DeJardin, Annie Tilly, and Nicholas (Michele) DeJardin; his grandchildren, Makayla, Madalynn, Onyxia, Natasha, Macie, and Nixon; his great grandchildren, Joanna and Theodore; his siblings, Betty, Mary, Judy, and Steve; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Doris DeJardin; his brothers, Marvin, Wayne, and Cletus; his sisters, Bernice, Joan, and Sharon,
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at Malcore (East) Funeral Home (701 N Baird. St. Green Bay, WI 54302) from 3:00 pm to time of service at 7:00 pm. Military honors will take place at 6:30 pm.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the VA in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
