Wisconsin Cervid Farmers’ Foundation presents scholarship to Crivitz student

CRIVITZ – Wisconsin Cervid Farmers’ Foundation (W.C.F.F.), which is the educational arm of Whitetails of Wisconsin (W.O.W.), announced a $750 scholarship was awarded to Lilli Watson at the 2024 W.O.W. Annual Spring Meeting held at The Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin March 16.  According to W.C.F.F., Lilli has been selected this year to receive the Scholarship in honor of our recently fallen WOW members:  Quinn Musch, Wayne Hamann, Greg Listle, Vince Voights and Rick Roppe.  Lilli’s parents Robert and Lindy Watson have been WOW Members since 2011.

Lilli graduates Crivitz High School and with an acceptance to Bellin College Radiologic Sciences Program in Green Bay.  Her courses start as early as this June and will fast-track her goal of receiving her degree in Radiologic Science to specialize with providing MRIs in three years instead of four.  She has held a part-time CNA job and helping on the family farm.  Her fondest chore has been feeding fawns.

Behind her success included holding a high grade-point average all while participating in three sports, National Honor Society and numerous volunteer activities throughout the community and in school.  Her leadership positions throughout high school have been Treasurer for National Honor Society and as Captain of her volleyball, basketball and softball teams.  Last fall she was recognized and selected in volleyball for first team all-conference.  She also has taken a college course in high school on leadership which has helped her in public speaking and volunteering opportunities.  One of Lilli’s biggest accomplishments was when she was nominated and chosen for the WIAA Sportsmanship Summit in Stevens Point because of her hard work, determination and leadership skills.

W.O.W. is an association representing an industry that has an annual economic impact on Wisconsin’s economy of $75 million.  W.O.W. is a political voice for approximately 400 deer breeders in Wisconsin.  They represent the deer industry by working closely with state and federal legislators and regulatory agencies to develop rules and regulations that govern the deer industry.

W.C.F.F. dedicates the promotion of deer farming and ranching as an agricultural pursuit. The Foundation serves its members through educational programs, research and publications providing industry leadership while maintaining quality industry standards.
