William J. Warwick

William J. Warwick Sr., 84, of Sturgeon Bay. passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 in Marinette.

Born May 18, 1938 in Sturgeon Bay, to Wendell and Adeline (Hoerres) Warwick, he joined the United States Air Force in 1956. On May 14, 1960, he married Sally Jacobe and they raised five children. A “jack of all trades” he worked at Hamilton Manufacturing Co in Two Rivers and Roen Steamship Co in the early ‘60’s where he became a master navigator of the Great Lakes. He also worked at Lampert Yards (formerly Burns Brother’s Lumber) as well as served as a fireman.

He was a highly skilled carpenter working on many projects all over Door County including Wyndemere Condominiums, Harbor Village and many private residences. He also worked for Alpine Resort as a groundskeeper/handyman and enjoyed helping others and meeting with friends at Birmingham’s Bar and Restaurant for one of Brad’s Brandy Old Fashion’s.

Survivors include two sons, Scott and Chris; two daughters, Toni and Corrina; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Sue) Warwick; two sisters, Irene (Bob) Grey and Theresa (Dan) Mathews and many nieces; nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William, Jr; a sister, Diane and his second wife, Linda.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family.
