Village of Lena Lighting Up for the Holidays

The “Village of Lights” preparation is underway at the Village of Lena. This traditional Holiday kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3rd. New this year, will be the “Reindeer Dash 5K Run”, starting at 3:30 p.m. and will be held at Lena High School and is sponsored by the Lena High School Baseball Program. McGuire’s Restaurant will be hosting $5 1 topping 9” pizzas from 3-5 pm.  
Another exciting addition will be a Village tree lighting ceremony at 4:45 p.m. at the Lena Village Hall.  At 5 pm, Santa arrives at the Lena Village Hall by fire truck so the reindeer can rest up for Christmas.   
From 5-7 pm local businesses will be sponsoring specials, providing treats and invite persons to join in on a game of “Blizzard Bingo”. Visit all the participating businesses and get your card “punched” and earn a chance to win a gift card.
Send a Christmas card to a Vet is sponsored by the Legion Auxiliary, cookie decorating, writing letters to Santa, horse drawn wagon rides to see all the beautiful light displays in Lena, Christmas tree, wreath, and poinsettia sales and much more will help to make this event extra special.  
Linda Hinds, Promotions Committee Chair is heading the festive event, and welcomes all to join. “This is a wonderful opportunity to join in on creating a great family tradition” stated Linda.
