Vernon Leisch

Vernon (Vern) Leisch, 83, passed away Friday, March 10, 2023.

Born July 14, 1939, to Ralph and Florella Leisch, he graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1957. He married Sandra Westenberger on Jan. 6, 1962 at St. John's Catholic Church in Gillett and they celebrated 61 years of marriage. He worked in Mechanical Maintenance at Fort Howard Mill for 34 years, until retiring from Fort Howard/ Fort James in 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra; a daughter, Sue (Mike) Whitmer; two grandsons;  two brothers Tom (Sandy) Leisch and Michael (Penny) Leisch; three sisters Marilynn Leisch, Karen MacLeish and Linda Leisch; a brother-in-law Sherban (Judy) Westenberger; a sister-in-law, Mary Leisch and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill and a daughter, Sharon Davidson.

Visitation with cremains will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 221 W. Main St, Lena on Saturday, March 18 from 9 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Town of Spruce Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for future masses for him. Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home of Lena is assisting the family with arrangements.
