The Twin Bridge Water Ski Team was formed 50 years ago by a small group of friends with a big interest in skiing. They and their families worked hard to organize a long lasting tradition. Their love of water skiing and the beautiful High Falls Flowage inspired the formation of the team. The team has come along way since it’s beginning in 1971. At that time the team had 24 members and used borrowed equipment. They bought their first boat for about $850 and gas was under $.50. In 1972 the team was incorporated as a non-stock, nonprofit corporation. 1986 marked the year of our affiliation with the Boy Scouts of America as explorer post 9361.

This year there are 42 skiing members and 70 members in it’s entirety. Members range in age from 2 to 72 years old including a few original members, their children, and grandchildren.

The team relies entirely on fundraising such as the many raffles, sponsorships, and donations to keep the team running. Their biggest fundraiser is the annual Fish-O-Rama held on the ice on the second Saturday in February. The team performs ski shows on Thursdays and Saturday nights at 6:30 p.m. June through August. The team hosts a learn to ski day event in July each year. They also participate in the Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Championships in Wisconsin Rapids each year. The team won state in Division III in 1994 and 2018.

This year, the Twin Bridge Water Ski Team presents Summer Lovin’. They are splashing into summer with a tribute to the 1971 musical hit and 1978 movie premiere of Grease which tells the story of two kids from opposite sides of the tracks who fall in love. It just proves that a summer romance can last a lifetime. They hope you will enjoy this romantic comedy which premiered 50 years ago and takes place in the 50s, as the Twin Bridge Water Ski Team honors their 50th anniversary.
