Tracy M. Hall

Tracy M. (Wills) Hall, of London, England, passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, after a seven month battle with cancer.

Born Sept. 3, 1981 in Marinette, to John Wills and Alane Wills, she attended Menominee Schools and graduated with honors in 2000. She then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northern Michigan University in 2005 with a degree in Education. She accepted a position teaching Junior High Math in Shakopee, Mn., in 2006. In 2008 she entered Richmond American University in London and received a Masters Degree in International Relations in 2009. She worked as the Assistant Director of Student Life at the Foundation for International Education in London. On June 25, 2016, she married Gregory Hall of London and their son Henry was born in 2018 and daughter Sophie in 2021.

She excelled in athletics, competed in softball in junior high and high school and also cross country, volleyball, and track and field. The 1997, 1998 and 1999 cross country teams won the Upper Peninsula State Championships and the 3200 meter relay team set the school record in 2000, which still stands today. While at NMU, she was a member of the Division II NCAA cross country team which competed in the national tournament and all four years she was qualified.

A huge zest for life, she loved travel, and had an ability to make friends anywhere she went, evidenced by the many, many friends she has around the globe. She had a good sense of humor, could memorize movie lines and SNL sketches and produce them at the perfect moment. She made people laugh but also made them feel at ease and welcome from their very first encounter with her. She had an interest in music, film, television and books.

Her life was in constant motion and she was sociable, caring, kind and interested in others. She doted upon her husband and children, making them the center of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Greg; two children, Henry and Sophie; her parents, John Wills of Menominee, Mi. and Alane Wills of Lachine, Mi.; her husbands parents, David and Valerie Hall of Milton Keanes, England; two sisters, Heather Burnside of South Lyon, Mi. and Heidi Wills of Medford, Or. and nieces, Lily and Isla Burnside’ a sister-in-law, Sarah and her husband Nathan and their children, Harriet and Huxley.

The funeral will be held in London on March 24. A Celebration of Life will be held in Menominee at a future date.
