Tobin Barrette - Letter to Editor

My name is Tobin Barrette and I am writing this letter to the editor as I am disappointed in the Peshtigo School Board members for not listening to the people that elected them.

I attended the School Board meeting last month that saw a huge turnout of concerned citizens. I was hoping at least one School Board member would have a light go off and start to question 100’s of people’s presence and concerns validity. School Board member’s main job is to represent the people that elected them. They have to live with themselves causing stress and hardship due to their misleading information.

Superintendent Patrick Rau had a lengthy write up in the Eagle Herald explaining the tax impact on residents. It would have been nice and informative to the public on what truly to expect. Why did he leave this valuable information out when only stating $29.00 per 100K home in taxes to the home owner? Wouldn’t that have been nice to know before the vote? Very misleading!

I personally am not going to stand for their lack of action. I am announcing next Wednesday in the Peshtigo Times on February 8, I am starting a recall of School Board members. The Peshtigo School Board members I will be recalling are:

1. Gary Larsen-President of the Peshtigo School Board;

2. Miranda Seefeldt-Policies;

3. Adam Buyarski-Finance, Personnel and Negotiations;

4. Rebecca DeMarce-Finance, Personnel and Negotiations;

5. Joshua Seefeldt-Buildings and Grounds;

6. Steve Coble-Buildings and Grounds/Vice President.

It is a shame when we have to go to this extreme because no one has the initiative to speak up and represent the people.

If you would like to be a part of the solution and recall six School Board members, please contact me at 715-923-7208.
