Local athletes competed at the Division 3 Suring Regional on Monday for a chance to head to sectional competition.
The top four finishers from each event move on to sectionals Thursday in Marathon.
The Lena/Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy boys won the team regional championship with a total of 111 points followed b Bonduel with 106. Coleman was third with 81, Gillett took sixth, Oconto seventh, Suring ninth and Crivitz was 10th.
On the girls side Suring claimed the regional title with 117 points followed by Lena/STAA with 81. Florence/Niagara was fourth, Coleman was fifth, Crivitz was seventh, Oconto finished ninth and Gillett was 10th.
Individually, Sam Marquardt won the 100-meter dash (11.7) and 200-meter dash (23.71), while Lucas Heimke won the long jump (19-5) and took second in the triple jump (39-8).
Dylan Comins was fourth in the pole vault (10-6) and Anthony Seefeldt took second in the shot put (45-9).
Zander Thomson took third in the 110-meter hurdles (17.4), fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (45.16), and second in the high jump (5-8).
Robert Alberts, Calvin Peters, Reed Hosking, and Tyler Shallow were fourth in the 4x200 (1:43.33).
The 4x400 team of Comins, Heimke, Thomson, and Marquardt took first (3:41.66).
For the Lena/STAA girls, Eva Brooks tied for second in the high jump (5-4), took second in the triple jump (32-7.5), and took fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.44) and 300-meter hurdles (53.09).
Alabama Lambert was third in the long jump (16-2) and fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.82).
Della Kostreva took third in the 400 (1:09.64) and fourth in the triple jump (30-10).
Claire Brooks, Kaelyn Cook, Lambert, and Karli Fischer combined to take fourth in the 4x200 (2:06.2).
The 4x400 team of Fischer, Kate Peters, Kostreva, and Sophia Pirlot was fourth (4:49.45).
For the Suring girls, Christine Sleeter took first in both the high jump (5-5) and pole vault (9’).
Birdee Cramer was second in the 300-meter hurdles (52.7) and third in the pole vault (7’). Ginger Gerndt took fourth in the pole vault (7’).
The 4x200 squad of Lily Hakes, Sleeter, Lillie Taylor, and Ginger Gerndt placed first (1:53.53).
A 4x800 team of Olivia Noack, Georgia Gerndt, Hailey Thomson, and Ginger Gerndt was second (11:04.68) and a 4x100 team of Hakes, Ginger Gerndt, Lillie Taylor, and Bunny Cramer took fourth (56.32).
In the 4x400, Noack, Sleeter, George Gerndt, and Hakes took second (4:30.93).
Thomson was third in the two mile (13:25.35) and Macie Reed took second in the discus (98-6). Noack was second in the 800-meter run (2:36.58).
For the boys, Quinn Thomson won the 400-meter (54.33).
Trent VanDenElzen took fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (17.61) and third in the 300-meter hurdles (44.59).
For Coleman, Sylvia Fochesato won the 300-meter hurdles (49.48) and was third in the 100-meter hurdles (16.92).
Kiersten Jensen won the discus throw at 117-9, 19 feet better than any other thrower.
Corrin Liptak was second in the long jump (17-3) and Vivian Kostreva placed fourth in the high jump (5-2). Xandriana Rhode took fourth in the 400 (1:09.75).
The girls won the 4x100 relay with a team of Fochesato, Ella VanErmen, Liptak, and Maddie Hinther (52.33).
Clare Gappa took fourth in the mile (6:28.9).
Ben Krueger was third in the boys’ discus throw (122’) and Dylan VanErmen took third in the triple jump (39-3).
Victor Kostreva took third in the pole vault (12’), second in the 110-meter hurdles (16.72), and second in the 300-meter hurdles (41.97)
In the 100-meter dash, VanErmen was third (11.93) and Darian Patz took fourth (11.96).
In the 4x200, Patz, VanErmen, Garett Kreischer, and Gavin Fochesato took second (1:37.39). The same team was third in the 4x100 (48.33).
Kreischer took third in the high jump (5-8).
Oconto’s Rylie Shallow won the girls’ 100-meter dash with a 12.97-second sprint.
A 4x200 team of Shallow, Gracie Simon, Kyanne Wusterbarth, and Alexis Martin took second (1:54.04), as did a 4x100 team of Jenelle Sowle, Wusterbarth, Simon, and Shallow (54.2).
Dominic Caylor took second in the boys’ 100 with a 11.76-second time and second in the 200-meter dash at 24.6.
Dominick Baxter placed fourth in the mile (4:52.65).
Roger Herrera Ramirez, Adan Herrera Ramirez, Davon Caylor, and Dominic Caylor took first in the 4x100 (46.77).
In the 4x800, Baxter, Dalton Bastian, Trenton Hartman, and Owen Bryzozowski took third (9:38.89).
Carter Koch was fourth in the high jump (5-8).
Florence/Niagara’s Blake Smith won the boys’ triple jump (41-5.5), 110-meter hurdles (15.81), and 300-meter hurdles (41.67).
Truth Setner placed second in the 400-meter dash (54.7) and third in the 200-meter dash (24.81).
Kamdan Johnson took second in the girls’ 100-meter hurdles (15.78) and 400-meter dash (1:01.72).
Morgan Borchardt placed second in the 200-meter dash (28.23), fourth in the long jump (15-8), and third in the 100-meter dash (13.55).
Bryn Sullivan, Abbey Tripp, Ashlynn VanDenhuevel, and Ingrid Holt took fourth (11:49.79) in the 4x800. A 4x400 team of Borchardt, Holt, Johnson, and Sullivan was third (4:33.67).
Tripp took fourth in the 3200 (14:14.38) and second in the 1600 (6:12.46). Holt was fourth in the 800 (2:49.36).
Gillett long-distance runner Alex Peterson won the 1600-meter run in 4:34.89, narrowly edging Crandon’s Taylor Karcz, who finished in 4:35.23. He was also first in the 3200, finishing in 10:29.07 to beat Karcz by .35 seconds.
Evan Peterson, Alex Peterson, Bradyn Wendorff, and Ben Matczak dominated the 4x800 (8:29.65). In the individual 800, Evan Peterson was second (2:05.59) and Wendroff was third (2:08.36).
Carleigh Kaczmarek took second in the 3200 (12:59.75) and Kasey Hansen took third in the 1600 (6:20.43).
In the 4x800, a team of Kasey Hansen, Kaczmarek, Lily Hansen, and Sophia Limberg took third (11:31.58).
The Crivitz Wolverines earned the top two spots in the boys’ pole vault, with Karson Bins first (12-6) and Dominic Thoreson second (12-6).
James Caine, Austin Doyen, Ben Brown, and Donny Brandow took fourth in the 4x800 (9:42.5).
Senya Caine won the girls’ 200-meter dash (27.76) and took second in the 100-meter dash (13.12).
Abby Langer was second in the shot put (34-1.5), Karlie Goldberg took fourth in the discus (90-10), and Kylah Betka took second in the pole vault (8-6).

At least one athlete or team from Peshtigo, Marinette, or Oconto Falls is headed to sectional competition in nearly every event after Monday’s Division 2 regional in Clintonville.
The Oconto Falls girls won the Regional title with 271 points, Peshtigo took second with 216.5. Marinette finished fourth with 187.
On the boys side Oconto Falls finished 1/2 point out of first with 121 to Seymours 121.5. Marinette was third with 116 followed by Peshtigo with 109.5.
With the top four individuals or relay teams advancing from each event, Oconto Falls is sending athletes to Little Chute in 25 events across boys’ and girls’ competition.
Oconto Falls’ Brooke Hodkiewicz won the 800-meter run (2:27.54) and took second in the 1600 (5:48.91), while Brailyn St. Louis won the high jump (5-2).
Brynn Hodkiewicz took third in the 400-meter (1:08.78) and Josie Saari took fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (52.1).
A 4x800 relay team of Maddy Przybylski, Brynn Hodkiewicz, Ava Hodkiewicz, and Hailey Delzer took first (11:01.87), as did a 4x400 team of Saari, Ava Hodkiewicz, Brynn Hodkiewicz, and Brooke Hodkiewicz (4:29.86).
A 4x100 team of Anna Spaulding, Hailey Kopke, Hailyn St. Louis, and Abby Budz took second (53.32).
Delzer took second in the 3200-meter run (13:09.73) and Budz was also third in the triple jump (30-1).
Morgan Moynihan and Ava Hodkiewicz were third and fourth, respectively, in the discus (92-3, 90-4). Moynihan also qualified for sectionals with a third place in the shot put (31-2), where Grace Molitor was fourth (30-4.75).
The Panther boys’ 4x100 team of Devon Dorn, Cole Judkins, Isaac Bramer, and Nicholas Allen was a winner (45.69), as was Ben Adams in the two-mile (10:16.92).
Alex Haines was fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (17.52) and third in the high jump (5-8). Emerich Skarban was fourth in the 300 hurdles (46.45) and Evan Yuma took fourth in the 400-meter dash (54.09).
In the 4x800, Adams, Brant Laluzerne, Griffin Kopke, and Emerson Rice placed third (9:04).
Brady Bursa, Judkins, Bramer, and Allen took third in the 4x200 (1:39.08).
Bramer was also third in the 200-meter dash (23.97), Dorn took second in the long jump (19-10.5), and Bursa was third in the triple jump (38-5.5).
For Peshtigo, Ethan Brissette won the 110-meter hurdles (15.68) and 300-meter hurdles (41.56) and Kavin Kleikamp won the pole vault (11-6).
Tristan Krejcarek was third in the 100-meter dash (11.8).
Andrew Nelson finished second in the 1600-meter (4:58.2) and 3200 (10:17.39).
A squad of Dathen Sechen, Krejcarek, Kavin Kleikamp, and Madison Vorpahl took second in the 4x200 (1:36.83) and 4x100 (45.98).
A 4x400 team of Mason Doberstein, Nathen Kleikamp, Reese Yunke, and Brissette was second (3:44.44).
Vorpahl was fourth in the 200-meter dash (24.59).
Rachel Nelson won the girls’ 1600-meter run (5:27.24) and came in second in the 800 (2:29.26). Christina Powers won the discus throw (95-1) and shot put (36-5.75).
Alaina Archambault placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (50.21) and triple jump (31-6.75).
Holly Pesch, Mary Mayhew, Riley Sabel, and Kayla Murphy took second in the 4x800 (11:38.58) and a 4x400 team of Kylie Villas, Shayla Boettcher, Jaycee Mullins, and Archambault also got silver (4:39.76).
In the 4x200, Archambault, Mullins, Boettcher, and Villas took fourth (1:55.74).
Riley Sabel took fourth in the pole vault (7-9).
“We had a lot of great performances in our sprints and sprint relays,” Peshtigo coach Derek Smith said. “Hopefully we can keep this momentum going through sectionals. We have a really tough sectional coming up and it will be a great experience for our young team.”
Marinette’s Cale Ducane won the discus throw (141-4) and shot put (46-2). Caden Genrich was fourth (128-11) in the discus and Logan Paris was fourth in the shot (44-4).
Paris was second in the 110-meter hurdles (15.79), .09 seconds back from Brissette. He was also second in the 300-meter hurdles (43.23).
Cole Vargo placed fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.91), Jackson Draheim was third in the 800-meter run (2:07.97), and David Jezowski placed third in the mile (4:59.03) and fourth in the two-mile (11:13.93).
A 4x200 team of Devin Holman, Nick Baldwin, Braxton Polzin, and Nicholas Hruska took fourth (1:42.42). A 4x100 team of Vargo, Polzin, Holman, and Paris was fourth (47.48), as was a 4x400 team of Vargo, Hruska, Baldwin, and Draheim (3:51.18).
Draheim was third in the pole vault (10-6) and Evan Reines was fourth (10-6).
Addison Lacy won the girls’ 3200-meter run (12:56.69) and was third in the 1600 (5:48.91)
Rylee Hansen placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (28.37) and triple jump (30-0.25).
Lacy, Karissa Valitchka, Lauren Sadowski, and Madison Kunick placed third in the 4x8 (11:47.04).
In the 4x100, Hansen, Hannah Lindsey, Kylie Veriha, and Keristen Kabacinski were fourth (54.07).
Kunick was fourth in the 3200 (14:27.62) and Jaydyn Sherwood took fourth in the discus (86-11).
“Marinette had a great showing in Clintonville at regionals,” Marine coach Jessica Konyn said.
The Little Chute sectional will begin Thursday at 3 p.m. with field events. Running events begin at 3:45 p.m.

Maroons Compete at
MHSAA UP Regional

Menominee put four field athletes, two individual runners, and five relay teams into the next round of track & field competition from Friday’s MHSAA UP Region 41-1 meet in Marquette.
In boys’ competition, Kaeden Calcari booked his spot at the UP Finals in Kingsford on Saturday, June 3 with a shot put of 41-2 and Darrent Butler was second in the high jump at 5-8.
Calcari, Landan Bardowski, Nathan Komp, and Jeremy Salmi moved on with a fourth place in the 4x200 (1:39.82). Calcari, Bardowski, Aaron Brunelle, and Komp made it with a third place in the 4x400 (3:55.81), and a fourth-place 4x100 team of Bardowski, Tyler Smith, Maverick Geniesse, and Salmi moved on (48.61).
A number of Maroons finished in the top 10 but did not advance to the next round.
Komp took fifth in the 400 (54.78), Robert Finger took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (19.13) and sixth in the 300-meter hurdles (46.68), Lucas Thoune was sixth in the discus (105-7), Brunelle took eighth in the high jump (5-2), and Geniesse was eighth in the long jump (17’).
Butler was 10th in the long jump (16-9), Brayden Bourion took ninth in the 1600 (5:29.9) and 800 (2:24.48), Blake Bourion placed 10th in the 3200 (11:59.33), Smith came in ninth in the 200-meter dash (25.83), and Salmi was eighth in the 100-meter dash (12.44).
Attica Brandt won the girls’ 1600-meter run with a time of 5:48.07 and Lexi Marineau was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.66).
Marineau, Brandt, Emily Schuettpeltz, and Erin Schuettpeltz took third in the 4x400 relay to advance (4:38.96) and a 4x100 team of Marineau, Erin and Emily Schuettpetlz, and Mackenzie Pesola took fourth to move on (56.4).
Pesola’s second-place leap of 14-2 in the long jump moved her on, as did Erin Schuettpeltz’s 4-6 jump in the high jump, as she was fourth.
Other top finishers that didn’t advance included Richele Milostan, who took sixth in the long jump (13-7) and ninth in the 200-meter dash (31.67), Marineau, who was sixth in the 300-meter hurdles (56.71), and Pesola, who was seventh in the 100-meter dash (14.33).
Erika Peterson was ninth in both the shot put (25-7) and discus (62-10).
