Successful Golf Outing for Crooked Lake/Mountain Lions

The Crooked Lake/ Mountain Lions Club sponsored their second golf outing on Sept. 21 at DeSmidt’s Golf Course in Crivitz. The event was held to raise money for the many donations the club makes throughout the year. The Lions Club contributes to the camp in Rosholt for cognitively disabled children, vision and hearing programs, the local food pantry and two different domestic abuse centers to name a few of the places the money goes.
To say the outing was a success would be an understatement.  Because of the very generous community they live in, the Lions Club have another $4,000 to distribute.  The money was raised by so many local businesses sponsoring a hole for $50 and so many volunteers donating raffle baskets.  And the main contribution was the generosity of the 72 golfers who took part in the event and seemed to have a good time doing so.
First place went to So Big and Scott Swanson; Second place went to Doug and Steve Kuchinskil and Third place went to Nick Gilbertson and Eric Gretzon. The winner of the 50/50, Greg Brandt, donated half the pot back to the Lions.
Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make the Crooked Lake/Mountain Lions Club’s second golf outing one that will now become an annual event, held in September.
