Steven J. Gasperi

Steven John Gasperi, 69, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center, Bay Area with family by his side.

Born Aug. 1, 1953 in Menominee, Mi. to John and Lucille (Pietrantonio) Gasperi, he graduated from Menominee High School in 1971. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy on the USS Hamner off the coast of Vietnam during the Vietnam War. He later attended Ferris State University where he received a Diesel Mechanic Certificate.

He worked as an over the road truck driver and later at KSU until retirement. He loved guns, going to the shooting range with his boys, was active in the local REACT unit years ago and loved being with his dogs.

Survivors include three step-sons, Jim (Paula) Vanidestine of Marinette and Christopher Paris and William (Ronae) Paris, both of Menominee; three sisters, Susan (Steven) Woodruff of Morgantown, W.V., Ellen Harbaugh of Mason, Mi. and Laurie (Hart) Kaudewitz of Kingsport, Tn. and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Gasperi and his significant other, Julie Vinson.

Visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, Sept. 29  from 4 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 6 p.m., with Deacon Steve Gretzinger presiding.

Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery in Norway, Mi.
