Stacy L. Canne

Stacy L. (Volansky) Canne, 61, of Marinette, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center, Bay Area in Marinette. 

Born Nov. 11, 1959, to Michael and Nancy (Ward) Volansky in DuBois, Pa., she grew up in Williamsburg, Va. and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1978. She worked at Busch Gardens as a ride operator on the Loch Ness coaster for a few years and then served in the United States Coast Guard for 10 years. She met her future husband, Felipe Canne while stationed at Governor’s Island, N.Y. and they married on April 11, 1995 in Marinette. 

She loved her new job of being a mom, the one thing she wanted most. She hosted foreign exchange students from UW-Marinette and also worked as a friendship family. She stayed in touch with many of her “kids”, especially Yvonne. An involved member of Holy Family Parish, she was on the Board of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel and loved helping with Church events. She also helped start the Relevant Radio station and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. Her love for others and servant’s heart poured out into many areas. 

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Felipe Canne of Marinette; a son, Barrett (fiancé, Kelleigh Doyle) Canne of Virginia Beach, Va.; a daughter, Marina (significant other, Emily Enea) Canne of Milwaukee; a step-daughter, Brandy De Guzman of Virginia Beach, Va.; two step-grandchildren, Brandon (Megan) De Guzman and Christien De Guzman; her mother, Nancy Ward of Williamsburg, Va.; a brother, Lance Curtis of Columbia, Mo.; a sister, Marcia Connor of Williamsburg, Va.; nieces; nephews and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Michael. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct.23 at Holy Family Parish, Our Lady of Lourdes Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m., with Rev. Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Thielen Funeral Home of Marinette is assisting the family with arrangements.
