Sandra L. Pociask

Messages from Heaven fell upon our ground early Sunday morning, November 14, 2021 with the first snowfall. The wind got strong as daylight broke and the trees glistened all covered with snow. As the morning hours ticked by the weather cleared, the wind calmed and the skies opened with bright sun. It was at that moment Heaven took home a special Angel as Miss Sandy followed the calling. 

Sandra “Sandy” Lynn Pociask (also nicknamed, “Lips” or “Sam”) was born November 12, 1964 to Edward and Dorothy (Paque) Pociask of Wausaukee. Sandy attended school in Wausaukee and Crivitz until she was 21. She lived on the family farm until moving to the Olson Adult Family Home in Marinette where she resided for 19 years. 

While residing at the Olson Home, Sandy was able to enjoy doing so many of the things she truly loved, such as traveling, camping, horseback riding, concerts and competing in the Special Olympics where she participated for several years in the shot put, racing and bowling.

She loved the Green Bay Packers. On game days she proudly wore her Packers jersey and cheered them on. Sandy loved music, especially country music and listening to her favorite singer, John Michael Montgomery, always put a smile on her face. Sandy especially enjoyed her time spent working at Wausaukee Enterprises in Wausaukee and Goodwill Industries in Marinette where she always had a good time with her co-workers and supervisors. 

Sandy is survived by four sisters, Carol (Mark) Polomis of Green Bay, Helen (Wayne) Busick and Dolores (Paul) Lagae both of Nekoosa, Wis. and Barb (Kevin) Kratz of Waukesha; four brothers, Ed (Patti) Pociask of Appleton, Jack (Penny) Pociask of Wausaukee, Bill (Barb) Pociask of Marinette and Ron (Lisa) Pociask of Green Bay; many nieces and nephews and her caregiver, Traci Olson. She will be truly missed by all who loved her and all whose lives she has touched. 

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Pociask. 

Visitation will be at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home in Marinette on Friday, November 19, 2021 from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Linda Forray officiating. Mask wearing will be optional. A luncheon will follow at the Holy Family Parish Center on Taylor St. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Wausaukee. 

A very SPECIAL THANK YOU to the Olson family who truly made her one of their own, her doctors and Unity Hospice who took such good care of her over the years.
