Russell Vernon Olson

Russell Vernon Olson, 95, passed away peacefully Monday, May 6, 2024, at home.

Born August 28, 1928, he was a lifelong resident of Stiles Junction and graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1945. A lifelong dairy farmer on their Century Farm at Stiles Junction, he married Lorraine (Rasmussen) Olson on June 5, 1954, and they would’ve celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary next month.

He attended the Oconto Gospel Chapel where he served as a board member and elder.  He loved to read, travel, visit with family and friends and enjoy the simplicity of a Sunday afternoon picnic or country ride.

His love and caring for his wife were immeasurable.  He was proud of and faithfully supported his children in their endeavors. His life reflected God’s grace as he quietly lived out his faith, serving those around him at home, at Church and in the Community.

He is survived by a daughter, Lori Ann Olson of Green Bay, and David (Laura) Olson of Lena; eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Arthur and Mina (Danielson) Olson, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Skaggs Schroeder.

Family received relatives and friends at the Oconto Gospel Chapel in Oconto on Monday, May 13 from 9 a.m. until time of the funeral services at 11 a.m., with Rev. Adam Sellen officiating.  Burial was in Stiles Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at Donations can be made toward a memorial fund for the Oconto Gospel Chapel and WRVM radio.
