Rosemary C. Vandenput

Rosemary “Rosie” C. Vandenput, age 78, formerly of Ashwaubenon, and currently of Crivitz, passed away early Tuesday morning, November 23, 2021, during one of her favorite times of year, deer hunting, after a hard-fought fight with acute myeloid leukemia. 

Rosie was born April 8, 1943, in Lincoln, daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Dolski) Hromas. She was a graduate of Preble High School, class of 1961. On September 11, 1965, she married James “Jim” Vandenput at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Green Bay. 

In addition to being a homemaker, Rosie worked for the Village of Ashwaubenon Water Department, Shade Information Systems, and Associated Bank; from which, she eventually retired. When not working, Rosie thoroughly enjoyed life through various activities such as deer hunting, riding their mopeds, dancing to a good polka, and spending time “up north” in Crivitz; eventually, living in the area for 16 years. Rosie was a competitive Sheephead player, never thinking about passing a hand. Furthermore, Rosie’s kind-hearted nature aligned with her knitting and crocheting ability, ranging from making hundreds of hats for children battling cancer, to sewing bridal dresses. 

Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years: Jim Vandenput, their children: Sonya (Dan) DeRuyter and Frank Vandenput (fiancée Kathy Baye); grandson, Adam DeBauche and his fiancée Kortney Johnson. She is survived by Kathy’s children; Ashley (Travis) Lesperance and Guy Baye, and grandchildren; Logan and Lakyn Lesperance. Furthermore, Rosie is survived by her sisters-in-law; Nancy Vandenput and Kay Mallien, brother-in-law; Ken Hazaert, in addition to 3 nieces, a nephew, and dear friends. 

Those who proceeded her in death are her parents, stepfather; Leonard Mancheski, her in-laws; Marge and Hank Vandenput, sister; Mary Hazaert, brothers-in-law; Don Vandenput and Gary Mallien, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tahsildar, Jani Cook, the entire Bellin Oncology Team, Dr. Laura Michaelis and the staff at Froedtert Hospital, the Hobart and Lawrence Police and County Rescue for your compassionate care, and especially the entire DeRuyter Family for your unending supply of food, prayers, and cards; which meant so much to mom.
