Roger R. Reed

Roger R. Reed, 74, of Oconto, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023 at home, with family by his side.

Born Sept. 28, 1948 in Oconto, to the late John and Margaret (Pillsbury) Reed, he married Linda R. Stewart on Sept. 4, 1976.

He served the City of Oconto in many ways, including Commission on Aging, 12 years on the City Council, Board of Public Works, Harbor Commission and Winter Wonderland. A Firefighter/EMS for over 30 years, he also worked at Gallagher Funeral Home for over 10 years and Rochester Midland for over 10 years.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Reed; a son, Todd (Amy)Reed; a sister, Joan (Harlin) Nowak; seven grandsons; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a special nephew and niece, John and Julie Reed and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Reed.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Shirley (Bill) Cook, John “Jack” Reed, David Reed, Dale Reed and Cindy Reed and mother and father-in-law, Lester and Dorothy Stewart.

Family will receive relatives and friends at Gallagher Funeral Home in Oconto on Tuesday, May 30 from noon until time of Memorial Services at 3 p.m., with Rev. Craig Alwin officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
