Robert H. Craner

Robert (Bob) Hal Craner, 60, of Marinette, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2022 at home with family by his side after a brief battle with cancer.

Born Sept. 7, 1962  in Ogden, Ut., to Joseph Hal Craner and Gail Haney Craner, in his childhood he lived in Idaho and enjoyed spending time on his grandparents farm in the summers. He settled down in Payette Id., where he graduated from Payette High School. He then joined the United States Navy and served on the U.S.S Horne based out of San Diego, Ca. from 1980-1984.

He later returned to Idaho in 1989 for work and in 1992 he moved Mary Christine LaBaron and children from Caldwell, Id. to Muscatine, Ia. where he worked at Bandag in 1992 until it shut down. He and Christine later divorced and he had custody of his two children, Andrew and Laura Ashley and also had guardianship of his step-son, Matthew.

He met Lori Brewer of Muscatine Ia. and in 1999, they moved to Wisconsin with his three children and her three children, to accept a new job. They married in 1999 and raised their children as one family. In 2010, he accepted a job in Northern Wisconsin. Bob, Lori and Andrew then moved to Marinette, where they still live. Four years ago, he found his dream job and became a Maintenance Manager for Eileen's Candies in Green Bay and was proud to tell his family and friends about his job and his quote for his job, was "Isn't that sweet".

He enjoyed golfing with his friends, fishing in Algoma with family and friends and hunting with his wife. Recently he went to San Diego to a Navy reunion where he met up and enjoyed time with some Navy shipmates. 

He was loved and will be missed by many friends and family.

Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Lori and a son, Andrew Craner, both of Marinette; a daughter, Laura Ashley of Madison; two step-sons, Matthew Rowell of Madison and Christopher (Connie) Jones of Hopewell Va.; four step-daughters, Michelle Jones of Muscatine, Ia., Brianna Webber of Atalissa, Ia., Sherrie Rowell of DeWitt, Ia.  and Andrea Rowell of Davenport, Ia.; two sisters, Pam Craner of Emmett Id. and Cindy Martin of Fruitland, Id.; a half-brother, Devin(Chris) Bailey of Santee, Ca.; his Mom, Gail (Jubal) Miller of Tennessee and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; great-grandparents and his first wife, Mary Christine LaBaron.

Per his wishes there will be no visitation or service.
