Richard Schroeder

Richard (Dick) Schroeder of Crivitz, WI, 82, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021. 

Dick was born in Evanston, IL to Richard and Violet Schroeder on May 16, 1939. He married “His Bride,” Carol Jean Ahrens on July 22, 1961. Together, they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. 

He proudly served in the United States Army followed by his dedication to the Wilmette, IL police department where he eventually became Chief of Detectives for twelve years. 

Dick and Jean relocated to Crivitz and proudly served the Twin Bridge area operating The Parkway Inn, eventually retiring together in Palm Harbor, Florida. He had a passion for hunting, fine dining, the occasional dry gin martini, loved to entertain, and was the life of every party. Nothing compared to the love he had for his family. 

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Violet and mother and father-in-law, William and Mabel Ahrens. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Jean, and beloved daughters and son-in-law’s, Denise and Randy Swanson of Crivitz and Doreen and Barry Kunz of Peshtigo. Grandchildren: Matt (Ashley) Swanson, Megan (Brandon) Doyle, Ashley Lindquist, Ken Kunz (Stephanie), Bailey Kunz, and Kelsey Kunz (Nick). Great-Grandchildren: Hayden, Sophia, Jack, Cooper, Lucas, Amelia, Beau, Parker, Emmett, Hudson, Corbin and Haven. 

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to special friends and family for their support and love during this difficult time. 

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home on December 4 from 12-2PM. The service will be at 2PM with pastor David Pluess officiating with Military Rites to follow.
