Richard Carroll

Richard Carroll, 76, of Oconto Falls, passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 at home.

Born Jan. 12, 1945 in Cornell, Wi., to Russell and Bertha (Bostedt) Carroll, he grew up in Cornell where he graduated high school and then attended college. He served in the United States Navy for four years and after an honorable discharge, he attended UW-Stevens Point and earned a degree in Elementary Education. 

On July 8, 1972, he married Bonnie Carroll in Greenville and they moved with their young family to Oconto Falls in 1976 where he worked at the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier until retiring. He was a member of American Legion Post #302 in Oconto Falls. 

Survivors include two children, Jonathon (Dana) Carroll, Lena; Jennifer (John) Ruprecht, Green Bay; five grandchildren; two brothers, Ray (Shirley) and Jerry (Sue) Carroll; a sister, Sandy (Ray) Brenner and a sister-in-law, Carol Carroll. 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Bill Carroll. 

Visitation with the urn present will take place at Jones Funeral Service on Friday, Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. until time of the funeral services at noon, with Pastor Gary Olson officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Oconto Falls.
