Rhonda McClain - Letter to Editor

I am writing to you to offer my support of Cindy Baur for her campaign for reelection to the Town of Peshtigo (TOP) Board as Supervisor 1. Her priorities during her first term included revamping the Recycling Center and addressing the devastating impact of PFAS on the TOP residents. With Supervisor Baur’s leadership, the Recycling Center has been transformed from a dump to a well-organized and efficient organization and those of you that use it have seen these remarkable changes. She has focused her efforts on learning everything she can about the impact of PFAS/PFOA on the human body, the wildlife, and the waterways in our communities. She is a strong advocate for each of us who reside in the TOP who currently are affected by these forever chemicals or may be in the future. I would like to share with you the depth of Supervisor Baur’s generosity, volunteerism, and commitment to charitable causes. She receives a stipend each month as a TOP Supervisor. Needless to say, a TOP Supervisor did not take the position thinking to make money. Supervisor Baur donates all of this money! Some of her donations include Doctors Without Borders, Shriners, AARP, Ducks Unlimited, Suring Fire Department, Smile Train, DAV, LRCC water listening sessions, and the TOP Fire department. She is also involved leading her church with construction and shipping of quilts for charity. Supervisor Baur actively seeks out donors for fabric and sheets, yarn and thread, to significantly decrease the cost of making the blankets. These quilts are then sent to Lutheran World Relief to be distributed throughout the world. This past year, her church shipped 550+ quilts in October.

Cindy Baur has 100% of my support for re-election to the Supervisor 1 position on the TOP Board.

Sincerely,
Rhonda McClain

TOP Resident
