Peshtigo secures shutout win over Kewaunee

PESHTIGO-The Peshtigo Bulldog girls secured a 3-0 shutout win over the visiting Kewaunee storm Tuesday May 7th.

During the game Peshtigo pitcher Nevaeh Russell pitched a full game for the Bulldogs and showed some great skill in doing so. The determined Bulldog was on target and had some great defense backing her up on the day. Any hits would be hits that found their way off Kewaunee bats were either caught by some excellent fielding plays or put in the dirt and sent to their proper bases for well thrown outs.

At the plate Peshtigo’s Katie Olson played a big part in the win as she drove in runs during the 4th nd 6th innings to help push the Bulldogs to a 2-0 lead while Neela Sotka also found a way to produce an RBI during the sixth to give Peshtigo a 3-0 lead.

Olson’s fourth inning RBI drove in Weddell who had reached off a walk while her second RBI scored Taylor Wortner who had reached on a double. Sotka’s RBI brought in Cameron Finger who found her way on bas after a single to left field.

During her win on the day Russell posted six strike outs while allowing just three hits and five walks.
