Over 450 Served At Lena School Spaghetti Supper

Administrator/Elementary Principal Ben Pytleski informed the Lena School Board at its meeting on Monday, March 20, that the annual  Spaghetti Supper was a hit, with 450 people served.  Scholarships are given from the proceeds.

The Lena Lions Club Fish Fry is set for Saturday, April 1.

He said the school had a few hard weeks with students losing parents, so the short two-day break was needed.  
March 29-30 are follow up dates for safety. 

Solo and Ensemble competition was to be held on Saturday, March 25.

Student Representative Abbygale Garrigan reported that Forensics had a group going on to State competition; Middle School had two Youth Wrestlers heading to state competition, and the Lena Boys had two first place participants in the Track competition, for which the season has just started.

Electrathon was to have as fund raiser on the weekend of March 25, and the Rabies Vaccine Clinic for Dogs and Cats was set for noon on Saturday, March 25.

All board members were present for the meeting. They are Charles Imig, Timothy A. Goldschmidt, Ed Huberty, David McNurlen and President Lori Dufek.

After brief discussion they agreed without dissent to table the proposed Food Service Position Contract for remainder of 2023 school year.

They agreed to schedule regular monthly board meetings 6:30 p.m. in the board room for  Mondays, on April 17, May 8, May 24(Graduation so meeting at 5pm), June 19, July 17, and August 21, and set a 5 p.m. meeting to coincide with graduation on Wednesday, May 24.

Other action items included approving renewal of the Insurance Consortium for the 2023-2024 school year; approving the CESA#8 service contract for the 2023-2024 school year, and approving Start College Now Applications for the 2023-2024 School Year as presented.

There was discussion on possible teacher compensation adjustments for the coming school year, and general agreement that comparisons will be obtained from other school districts before the meeting was adjourned at 6:38 p.m.
