Middle Inlet Board To Open Road Bids June 8

Opening bids for road work, a memorandum of understanding between the Fire Department and Marinette County Sheriff’s Department in regard to the Water Rescue Team, and discussion on a 20-acre town property are among items on the agenda of Middle Inlet Town Board at its monthly meeting on Thursday, June 8.

The evening for town officials will begin with a 6 p.m. finance meeting, and the board meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. with opening of bids for 2023 road construction proposals and Wayside Road culvert replacement among the first items on the agenda.

Certified survey maps for Wood Duck LLC and Larry Heard will be presented for approval.

Fire Chief Jon Kleuskens will give the monthly fire department report and present the memorandum of understanding with Marinette County Sheriff’s Department for approval. At the May town board meeting Chief Kleuskens had explained the proposal through which Middle Inlet will house the county’s major water rescue equipment and the Middle Inlet Fire Department’s very active Water Rescue Team will become the hub of the county’s water rescue response unit.

In addition to other more routine business, the board also is expected to approve an ordinance adopting the Wisconsin Municipal Records Retention schedule.

There is to be discussion again on problem properties. Town Chair Ron Wenzel is to give the Road and Planning Commission reports. Supervisor Ryan Pomeroy is to report on garbage and recycling and supervisor Chuck Stanek is to report on activities involving the town hall and the cemetery.
