Mary T. Rastall

Mary Therese (Fournier) Rastall, 56, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023.

Born Nov. 13, 1966, to Mathew J. and Mary W. Fournier in Menominee, Mi., she was a loving sister, and caring friend. A talented pianist, she began playing the piano at age 4 and quickly became a prodigy. Her love of music led her to become a very professional pianist.

Despite her success, she never lost sight of the things that mattered to her, her family and friends. A loving and caring sister, she always lent a listening ear or a helping hand. She had a contagious smile, a heart of gold and her positive energy brightened the lives of all around her.

Her life was tragically cut short by her struggle with addiction. Despite her many talents and accomplishments, she was unable to overcome the demons that haunted her. Her passing is a painful reminder of the destructive power of drugs, and a call to action for all of us to do everything we can to help prevent similar tragedies to those in the future.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and her memory will live on through her music and many lives she touched through her time on earth. She is now at peace with her mother and sister.

Survivors include her only son, Reid (Brooke) Rastall; a grandson, Bentley Rastall; father of her son, John Rastall; five brothers, Joe, Mike, Steve, Tom and James Fournier and many other friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mathew and Mary Fournier and a sister, Irene.

Visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Thursday, March 16 from 4 p.m. until time of a Memorial Service at 6 p.m., with Deacon Steve Gretzinger presiding. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established. Expressions can be directed to her son Reid.
