Gibraltar/Sevastopol
Peshtigo tied Gibraltar/Sevastopol 1-1 on Thursday after a scoreless second half from both teams, giving the Bulldogs their first positive final result of the young season.
Sophomore Cameron Williams gave Peshtigo a 1-0 lead in the first half, dispatching the ball into the upper left corner of the net, but just before halftime, what Bulldog coach Sam Wargula described as a “poorly-executed backward pass” from Peshtigo was finished off by Gibraltar/Sevastopol to tie the game.
Neither team scored in the second half despite some chances both ways.
“Gibraltar was a younger team with one senior but I was impressed with how mature their offense looked,” Wargula said. “They were a great litmus test for our improving season.”
The draw ended a run of three defeats to start the season for Peshtigo. The Bulldogs will look to build on the momentum against winless Algoma on Thursday.

Chrislin Pierre Scores
2 in Draw With
Sheboygan Falls

Chrislin Pierre scored both of Marinette’s goals again in a 2-2 draw with Sheboygan Falls.
One was a great solo effort in which he beat three defenders and the other was a through ball from Damian Winterbottom that he finished off.
Sheboygan Falls led 2-1 in the second half before Pierre’s second goal.
“This was the best midfield I have seen so far this year,” Marinette coach Chris Mahlik said. “Our defense played well and our goalie Landon Reek played outstanding.”
