Sommerfeldt took time to comment on the honor  of joining the list and what it took to get there saying, “I put many hours into the gym working hard. A lot of shots were put up outside of the season to get where I wanted to be. Just a lot of time playing and watching basketball to get to that point, in season, off-season, AAU.”

Sommefeldt also found himself amongst great players during his years at Marinette and took time to explain how they helped him progress.

“I was fortunate to have a lot of teammates throughout the years that pushed me to be better everyday in practice,” said Sommerfeldt. “There was always a guy on our team that gave me a challenge during practice. Outside of that, my brother Jake was a big part in getting to where I got. He always challenged me but also helped me through struggles.”

Oconto Falls

Alex Haines, Senior: Honorable Mention

Career: 589 points, 294 rebounds and 151 assists.

“He did a ton for our team this year. He’s a strong, athletic point guard that led the team in rebounds, assists and steals and was second in scoring. He is our biggest guy and therefore usually had tough defensive assignments as well. He’s a great senior leader and role model, receiving All-State Academic honors.” - Panthers head coach Ross Kraszewski

Jameson Beaman, Sophomore: Honorable Mention

“He led our team in points as a sophomore and was second in rebounds. He’s an incredible scorer because he works really hard at it; he loves the game, he’s a gym rat, and it shows. We need more guys with his off-season mentality.” - Coach Kraszewski

Brady Bursa, Sophomore: Honorable Mention

“Team leader in blocks, second in assists and steals as a sophomore. He has amazing speed, quickness, and verticality. He has a massive impact on our team on both ends. He can blow past his defender and run the offense, he can break a press, and he can lock down the other team’s best guard.” - Coach Kraszewski
