Lloyd “Pete” Peterson

Lloyd “Pete” R. Peterson, 90, of Marinette passed away Monday, Oct. 11, 2021 at Aurora Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette. He was born March 16, 1931 in Menominee to the late Lloyd and Florence (Kaminski) Peterson. He graduated from Menominee High School in 1950 and served in the US Marines during the Korean War.  

On July 2, 1955 Pete married Helen Peanosky at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Marinette; she died May 28, 2018. He had worked at Marathon Paper in Menominee for 10 years and then Rodman Industries for over 25 years. Pete loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He ran track and played football in high school. He was an avid Packer fan and always looked forward to watching the games with family. He also enjoyed watching old-time westerns, especially Gunsmoke, Carol Burnett, Red Skelton and Raymond. He will be remembered for his positivity, his chuckle and his special occasion toasts.

Survivors include a son, Tim (Kim) Peterson of Marinette; daughter, Carrie (John) Bezier of Merrill; brother, Steve Peterson of Menominee; and five grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents and wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by a brother, Reggie Peterson.  

Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 17 from 2 to 3 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to an Honor Flight in Pete’s name would be appreciated.
