Lena School Okays $1,492,672 Levy

At a special meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 26 Lena School board approved the tax levy of $1,492,672 as presented after reviewing the revenue limit worksheet. The tax levy and 2023 budget had been discussed at the annual meeting and budget hearing on Monday, Oct. 3, but the amount of the levy could not be set until all numbers were received from the state.
Also at the special meeting the board was informed that the first quarter of the school year will end on Friday, Nov. 4.
Administrator Ben Pytleski advised the board that volunteers were back in the classrooms for help in the elementary school. Flu shots had been given on Wednesday, Oct 26, parent teacher conferences were to be held from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. that evening, and Spookapalooza also was going on that evening.
The special board meeting had begun at 6:33 p.m. and was adjourned at 7:09 p.m. Board members present were Charles Imig, Timothy Goldschmidt and Ed Huberty. Board member David McNurlen was absent, as was board President Lori Dufek. Others present were Pytleski and High School/Middle School Principal Matt Hanson.
