Lakewood Library Raises 80% of $1.5 Million Goal

Lakes Country Public Library has reached a milestone in its quest to expand and renovate Lakewood Library.

Thanks to grants, donations and fundraisers, in a little over a year the Capital Campaign has raised 80% of the $1.5 million goal.

“The need for library services has grown dramatically, especially since the Pandemic,” says Fundraising Committee Chair Kathleen Marsh. “Our current facility simply cannot provide what the community needs, which is why this project is so critical. Consequently, we are reaching out to ask those who haven’t contributed yet, and even those who have, to help us get over the top so the new Library becomes a reality.”
Capital Campaign’s progress can be viewed via the giant Fund-o-Meter on the right as you enter the library parking lot. A virtual tour, complete with floor plan of the new building, is available at the library’s website: thelakescountrylibrary.org. For those who have questions or want to know more about procuring naming rights to a room in the new facility, please email: kathie marsh@ yahoo.com.
