Keeble receives Educator of Excellence Award

WABENO – Presley Keeble, a kindergarten teacher at Wabeno Elementary School, is the recipient of the 2024 Richard T. Lowery Educator of Excellence Award.  The award is presented by Nicolet-Oconto Retired Teachers’ Association (NORTA) to recognize an educator who goes above and beyond to educate students in and outside the classroom.

Ms. Keeble is a 2016 graduate of Wabeno High School, and a 2020 graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.  She received a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education.  Throughout her college career, she worked with children from 0-9 years old.  She completed practicums, student teaching, and worked at the YMCA Day Care.

Returning to the area, she applied to the School District of the Wabeno Area for the open kindergarten teacher position and has now held that position for four years.

Presley commented, “I have been working here for four years, and I absolutely love it!  I would not have gotten to where I am today if it weren’t for my teachers, colleagues, and family.  I am appreciative of them and the amount of support I have received throughout my career.  Next year, I will be co-teaching with an amazing 4K teacher, due to having my first baby!  Like I said, I am so thankful for the staff supporting us in this decision.”
