John Guarisco - Letter to Editor
At the Aug. 29th meeting of the Marinette County Board of Supervisors, a lengthy discussion was held regarding Marinette County’s participation in a home healthcare program as a provider. The board ultimately voted to discontinue participation in the program. During the discussion, I spoke from personal experience of my interaction with Lakeland Care. For a full explanation of this service, read last week’s Peshtigo Times article. Dealing with health issues of loved ones is never easy and often unpleasant. I eluded to that effect in my comments and it was interpreted to mean that my experience with Lakeland Care was a poor one. This was not the case. In fact, Lakeland went above an beyond to help us with home healthcare for my parents. Sending case workers from as far away as Rhinelander and Wausau to personally meet with us. I was very satisfied with their service and have continued to recommend them to others that find themselves in similar situations.
I simply felt it necessary to clarify the intent of my remarks so others that may find themselves in a similar position would not hesitate to consult with Lakeland Care.
