James I. Daggitt

James I. Daggitt, 83, of Marinette, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center, Bay Area.
Born May 19, 1939, to Ivan and Mabel Daggitt in Benton Harbor, M., he spent his early life there before moving to Paw Paw, Mi., where he joined the United States Air Force and spent a 20-year career as an Aviation Mechanic.
He married the former Nancy Schmidt on Dec. 20, 1957 and they traveled extensively as his duty stations took him to Air Force bases in North Africa, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey, Germany and Guam. After retiring from service, he worked for the United States Army Corps of Engineers at the Sault Ste. Marie locks. They lived in Marinette for the past 17 years and were members of Calvary Church.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nancy; two sons, Mark (Linda) Daggitt of Oshkosh and Jimmy Lee Daggitt of New Mexico; a daughter, Barbara Ann (David) Nyman of Little Chute; a granddaughter; one sister, Diane (Orin) Miller of Dafter, Mi. and a brother, Wayne (Linda) Daggitt of California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Gordon and a sister, Joanne.
Visitation will be held at Hansen Onion Martell Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 9 from 11 a.m. until time of the services at 1 p.m., with Rev. Tim Hawthorne of Calvary Church officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette.
