James Alan Mileski
James Alan Mileski passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 3, 2023. He was born Oct. 25th, 1955, in Menominee, Michigan to Doris (Cota) and John Mileski. He graduated from Menominee High School, Class of 1973, and recently attended his 50-year class reunion which he was very excited about being able to attend.
Jim married the love of his life, Kristi Roberts, on June 24, 1989, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee, Michigan. Prior to retiring, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for 39 years at Angeli’s/Jack’s Fresh Market. He was an exceptionally versatile and multi-talented person.
If you knew Jim, you knew he was able to fix just about anything that he came across, and his outgoing personality allowed him to make friends easily wherever he went. He always knew what to say to get everyone laughing, even if that meant you ended up being the butt of the joke. His sense of humor could be a bit sassy at times. Although he could be a stubborn “Polack” occasionally, he had a heart of gold. He looked forward to hunting season each year and started planning months in advance for it.
Jim enjoyed gardening and canning his veggies to share with others, cooking and baking, golfing, woodworking, fishing, deer hunting, spending time at camp, sitting around the bonfire and making the perfect pudgie pie, mowing his lawn, cutting and splitting wood, feeding the wildlife in his backyard, snuggling with his cats, Precious and Peanut, while watching Fox News, his bit-o-honey, chocolate and mint chocolate chip ice cream. A dedvoted fan, he looked forward to attending sporting events for his children, whether at home or traveling a distance. Jim loved “making memories” with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved them all dearly.
Jim is survived by Kristi, his loving wife of 34 years, 6 children and 8 grandchildren: Jim (Sarah) Mileski, their children; Tyler Mileski, MacKenzie Mileski, Ethan Mileski, Megan (Sam) Scarborough, their children; and Michael (Kelly) Mileski, their children. Jim is further survived by brother-in-law, Gary (Janet) Roberts and sister-in-law, Maxine (Robert) Lodel, siblings Dave (Debbie), Paul (Robin), Mary, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
A visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home on Tue., Nov. 14, 2023 from 4pm until 7pm. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Jim was most comfortable in his flannel. Please feel free to honor him by wearing your favorite flannel or plaid to visitation. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established. A portion will be used to continue Jim’s Butterfly-Hummingbird Garden next spring. Any expressions of kindness and sympathy may be directed to Kristi Mileski.
